27 JUL. Department of Health Consultation. The Department of Health is now consulting on the White Paper proposal. This engagement process is intended to give you a voice in designing how HealthWatch will work. The consultation documents are available at www.dh.gov.uk/liberatingthenhs. We strongly encourage you, and the people you represent and work with, to submit your views on the proposals set out in the White Paper. 21 JUL. Consultation on Dental Services. The NHS Hammersmith & Fulham wishes to consult with patients, members of the public, Heath, Housing and Social Care staff and voluntary organisations within the NHS London North West Sector about the proposal to relocate the Out of Hours Urgent Care Dental Service currently based at Charing Cross Hospital. The consultation period will be one month from Monday 19th July 2010 to Friday 13th August 2010. You can respond to this consultation document by writing to Neil Bisby, Head of Dental Commissioning, NHS Hammersmith & Fulham, 1 Hammersmith Broadway, W6 9DL or by emailing HF_Dental_Redesign@NHS.net. All responses to the consultation received on or before 5:00pm on Friday 13th August 2010 will be taken in to account in the decision making process. The consultation responses will be reviewed by a Commissioning Panel by Monday 30th August 2010.

16 JUL. Equity and excellence: Liberating the NHS, a blend of Conservative and Liberal Democrat ideas to ‘once again make the NHS the envy of the world’. This White Paper sets out the Government’s strategy for liberating the NHS in the current Parliamentary term and beyond. Much work needs to be undertaken over the next two to three years, both to manage the transition, as well as to flesh out the policy details.

Your Health Logo28 JUN. Festival of Health and Wellbeing - 3rd July. This summer, the local NHS is holding the borough’s first festival of health and wellbeing in Hammersmith’s Lyric Square and Theatre on Saturday 3 July. Drop in anytime between 10am and 4pm to speak to local doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, and other NHS staff about the health services available in the borough. 16 JUN. Commissioning Opportunity: Health Outreach Services. A new UK Government took office on 11 May. As a result the following information may be subject to change to reflect current Government policy. The local NHS will be commissioning Health Outreach Services between September and December 2010, including Expert Patient Programmes, Health Champions and Health Trainers. The NHS is looking to award one contract for each service, either one organisation that can meet all the service requirements, including meeting Quality Assurance standards and reaching excluded groups, or a partnership of organisations, with a lead body.

1 JUN. TAHA: FREE Advisory Sessions for Your Groups/Organisation. Amongst many beneficial projects TAHA delivers, BME Self Directed Care is a new project taking place in Hammersmith & Fulham. BME Self Directed Care Project aims to increase awareness and take up a Direct Payments, Individualised Budgets & Self Managed Care Support amongst Black Minority & Ethnic people with substantial health needs or disabilities and their carers across London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow. The project seeks to improve engagement between NHS, commissioners, allied health professionals, third sector and BME communities, and also increases choices to access culturally appropriate services and culturally appropriate care planning, commissioning and brokerage services. 1 JUN. Exciting new National Youth Programme Live UnLtd is currently delivering a national 5 year programme funded by the Big Lottery Fund (5 million pounds). The programme will give people the opportunity to help themselves by helping others through their own entrepreneurial projects, by acting in a socially entrepreneurial way. The programme will fund and support young people's ideas with an average of £1500 support for each project.
